Mégane Coupe
The sports seats have plenty of lateral support to stop you sliding around when cornering, and with a good range of adjustment on the seat and steering wheel, it's easy to make yourself comfortable. The dashboard is easy to use, but it's a bit bland to look at.

Running Costs
The Megane, spec for spec, is cheaper to buy than key rivals such as the Ford Focus and VW Golf, and we expect healthy dealer discounts to become the norm. However, if it follows the pattern set by other Renaults you can expect residual values to be among the weakest in this class, however. Running costs for most models should be low, and the smaller diesel engines are particularly clean and frugal.
Mégane Hatchback
Quirks such as a digital speedo, push-button starter system and electronic handbrake make the Megane's interior fussier than it needs to be, and the controls for the optional sat-nav system aren't ideally placed. However, most of the dash is sensibly laid-out and the driver's seat is supportive and comfortable. The Coupe's rakish rear end restricts visibility, but it's not as bad as you might think.
